My new song cycle “reflexionen – frauenliebe und leben” (reflections – women’s love and life), based on poetry by Helle Trede, will premiere in May. Mezzo-soprano Pascale Jonczyk had the idea of contrasting Schumann/Chamisso’s cycle with a contemporary perspective. In collaboration with pianist Olivia Shurman, poet Helle Trede, and myself, a new song cycle was created in a cross-generational exchange on the theme of women’s love and life.
The cycle will be performed for the first time on May 10 and 11 in Freiburg (see schedule).
In addition to the original version for medium voice, there are versions for high and low voice, excerpts of which will be heard at the following concerts:
